Eileen lost her firstborn son to MND. He was only in his early forties and was married with young children. He never complained and was so brave in facing his death. Eileen and her husband Bryan held garden parties to raise funds. Eileen used to bake thousands of cheese scones to sell at the garden parties and over the space of 10 years they managed to raise the magnificent sum of £40,000+ which was donated to MNDA in order for research to continue in order to find a cure for this terribly cruel condition.
